If you haven't already heard of MBWEP, check it out. I am on the board as the director of PR. www.mbwep.com It's an organization for Wedding Professionals in the Monterey Bay Area (Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties) to promote one another, learn from one another and be a solid foundation for brides and event planners to pull resources from when choosing to hire vendors for their events. Included but not limited to out of the area bridal shows with Monterey and Santa Cruz as destination weddings, local bridal shows sponsored by MBWEP with MBWEP members only, workshops, classes, referrals and networking/social events.
