Named a "Best of Weddings, 2008 Pick" in The Knot!

What an exciting surprise! This just showed up in the mail... According to brides polled on the knot website, we are top pick wedding photographers for the Northern California area! What an honor considering the host of talented photographers in San Francisco and Monterey Bay Areas, not to mention the rest of Northern California! I think there are like 10 in my own neighborhood! We feel honored and blessed to have received this recognition, and we owe it to our brides that talked about us! The knot... as if any brides don't know... is the largest bridal magazine out there, so it feels really good to be acknowledged by them. Here is the article...

In addition to general wedding questions, newlyweds were asked to rate their local wedding vendors on multiple criteria, from creativity to professionalism, and to comment on their experiences. The resulting ratings and detailed feedback were aggregated by the editors of The Knot to create a one-of-a-kind publication, highlighting the best wedding resources in each region according to local brides: The Knot Best of Weddings Magazine, now available on newsstands nationwide.

The Knot Best of Weddings magazine is available for $9.99 on newsstands and in major bookstores nationwide, and at www.TheKnot.com/shop

I am honored to receive an award for this image (especially because it took me a long time to get it the way I wanted it....)

St. Lawrence Pascha - Eastern Orthodox Christian Easter

Our church (St. Lawrence in Felton, Ca.) celebrated Pascha, which is Easter but on the Eastern calendar on Sunday. It's the feast of all feasts, and we start at 11PM if you can believe that. We stayed until 2:30AM, those church people sure can party! It's a very special celebration, and unlike any other that I've attended.

Laguna Seca Open Track Driving Experience

What a rush. I felt like a kid at Christmas....or in a candy store...or whatever. Giddy as a schoolboy. Anyway, I am hooked. I got to take my car (a BMW M3) out to Laguna Seca with some family and friends, and drive it on the track all day long. All I can say is, "When do I get to do it again?" I met one of my clients last year, Andrew Proaps, and he said that I could go out to the track with him. I've always wanted to, and when I rode with him, I knew that I really wanted to drive my own car on the track. I also have another 2 clients and a few friends that have very cool cars and/or racing experience, so it seems we have our own little club. My good friend Will Brought out his Mustang and drove it as well. Enjoy some photos, I'll try to post a video sometime soon.

This is my track car. I am constantly upgrading it...there is a laundry list still to do...

My first car was this 1965 Mustang Fastback that I rebuilt from the ground up

I built the engine in high school auto shop with around 350 horsepower

It had a Hurst toploader 4-speed and a 9"posi-rear end, along with lowered and stiffened suspension

I eventually sold the car to a good friend in 1999. Then I got the M3, which I love. It's my 3rd one...(I'm crazy like that)
